A Letter From the Principal...

January 12, 2017

Dear St. Constance School Families,

Please join our school community at the weekly 8:00 a.m. Parish Liturgy next Wednesday, January 18th.

All are cordially invited to join us for the 10:30 a.m. Family Mass on Sunday, January 29, 2017 as we celebrate the start of Catholic Schools Week. This year’s theme is “Communities of Faith, Knowledge, and Service”. Join us for our Open House following the Liturgy from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. which will feature the very popular Literature, Health, and Science Fair, a Social Studies Expo, along with a variety of themed projects prepared by our primary grades.

Our thanks and gratitude is extended to the St. Constance Holy Name Society for their generous gift of $125.00 to be applied towards school supplies. Thank you for your kindness and ongoing support and friendship.

Included in today’s folder please find your child’s Mid-Trimester Report for students in grades 1-8. Please review these and return a signed copy to your child’s homeroom teacher by next Tuesday, January 17th. Children in Preschool 3/4 and Kindergarten will receive their Report Card at Semester Conferences next Thursday, January 19th. Please note that due to conferences, children in Preschool 3/4 and Kindergarten do not have school on Jan.19th. All other children in grades 1-8 will have regularly scheduled classes on this day.

Next week the Student Council, along with their moderators, Ms. Blecka and Ms. Odrobina, are sponsoring Parkinson’s Awareness Week. Included in today’s folder, please find information regarding specific highlights and activities of the week.

This is to remind our 8th grade graduates that Van Gogh Photographers will be at St. Constance School to take Graduation Pictures on Tuesday, January 31, 2017. These students will have an out of uniform day. All other children are to be in their regular school uniform.

I would like to invite all our school parents and guests to join us for our annual St. Constance School Valentine’s Dinner Dance. We would like to invite and celebrate you as a whole family! Our Valentine’s Dinner Dance will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017. This event will be held in our very own Handzel Center Gymnasium located at 5864 W. Ainslie Street. Included in today’s folder please find information regarding the classroom gifts to be raffled off at this event. Each student is asked to make a donation of $10.00 for this purpose. We are also hoping that you are successful in selling the 10 raffle chances you received prior to Christmas. We need everyone’s help in order to make this a success. Please find updated donation letters in today’s folder for your convenience as there was an error to the total prize amounts listed. The evening will include a dance show, catered dinner, desserts, dancing, various activities for children, prize raffles, and a Grand Raffle consisting of three cash prizes totaling $2,250.00. Bring the entire family, invite all your friends, neighbors, or co-workers for an enjoyable night out while supporting our school. Please join us as we celebrate the spirit of St. Constance School!

Thank you for your ongoing support of our school’s Recycling Program. The school recently received a check in the amount of $62.90 for our efforts.

We are also grateful for your participation in the Box Tops for Education Program. A check in the amount of $428.60 was received for our last submission period.

This is a reminder for all parents, visitors, etc. that anyone who enters the school building should register in the school office and receive a visitor’s pass prior to conducting any business. At no time should anyone be wandering through the hallways and going to their child’s classroom without signing in at the main office. Please understand that it is to assist us in monitoring who is in the building and for safety measures. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

This week our thanks are extended to the Mulac family for their donation of children’s books for the library.

Thank you also to all who were able to join the School Board/Holy Name Society for their Pancake Breakfast. A total profit of $237.53 was earned for the school.

Finally, this is to remind you that per the school calendar, school will be closed next Monday, January 16th in celebration of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday.

Have a pleasant weekend!.
