A Letter From the Principal...

October 12, 2017

Dear St. Constance School Families,

All are cordially invited to our Monthly Family Mass this coming Sunday, October 15th at 10:30 a.m. Confirmation Candidates are also required to be present at this Liturgy for their Confirmation Enrollment Mass.

Please join us as we pray the Sorrowful Mystery of the Rosary on Tuesday, October 17th beginning at 12:45 p.m.

You are also invited to join the students at the regular 8:00 a.m. Parish Liturgy next Wednesday, October 18th. Students in Preschool-8 grade should report directly to church.

On Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 1:45 p.m., the St. Constance Parish Community will gather to celebrate a special Grieving Mass for departed family members and friends. Please keep in your prayers all the souls of the faithfully departed.

As we conclude Breast Cancer Awareness Week, I would like to thank the Student Council, along with their moderators, Ms. Blecka and Ms. Odrobina for coordinating the week’s events. In addition, a special thank you to all our students for their support of this important cause.

Thank you for your recent participation in our school’s Scholastic Book Fair. A net profit of $926.38 was earned for the school, allowing for us to purchase 3 new ipads for the computer lab. Thank you again to our moderators, Ms. Margaret Tanikowska and Mrs. Kelly Mikrut, along with their assistants, Mrs. Kasprzyk and Mrs. Mulac. In addition, our thanks are extended to Mrs. Krzanowski and Mrs. Shaheen for their help.

We seem to have a growing collection of lost and found items. If you believe your child is missing something, please check in the school office. I also urge everyone to please check your child’s uniform labels, as they may have taken someone’s belongings by mistake.

Thank you to all who participate in the school’s Paper Recycling Program. The school recently received a check from Midwest Paper Retriever in the amount of $47.40 for our efforts. Recycling Bins are located on the southeast corner of the school parking lot for your convenience.

Congratulations go out to Gabriel and Issac Shaheen on bringing in 43 Box Tops, and being the September Box Tops winners. Each will receive an out of uniform coupon for their efforts. A total collected for the month was 158. I encourage all of you to please participate in this easy way to raise additional funds for our school.

As you know, an extension was given through October 10, 2017 to wear the blue uniform walking shorts. Please be advised that this grace period has concluded, and all students should be in compliance with the uniform dress code as indicated in the Parent-Student Handbook. Thank you for your cooperation.

Make sure to attend the Home and School Association’s Fall Festival this Saturday, October 14th from 6:00-9:00 p.m. in the school gymnasium. Bring out the entire family and join other school families for an evening of fun. The evening consists of a light dinner followed by many exciting activities. Tickets are $7.00/person if purchased by today, October 12th or $9.00/person at the door. Children 2 and under are free. Please keep in mind that all children need to be accompanied by an adult. Hope to see you there!

Please join us for our traditional Halloween Parade on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 beginning at 12:45 p.m. As the Christian perspective on the observance of Halloween is divided, it is mandatory that all costumes be in good taste and sensitive to all opinions. Students will not be able to wear costumes resembling witches, ghosts, skeletons, vampires, mummies, monsters, etc. In addition, no masks or props resembling any forms of violence or negative connotation will be allowed. If a child is dressed inappropriately, they will need to call home for a change of clothes and will not be able to participate. Please remember when sending treats for classroom celebrations, to not send any items containing peanut products. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Van Gogh Photographers will be taking absentee/retakes on Wednesday, November 1st. Please see the enclosed information.

Our thanks and gratitude are extended to Grandpa Van Allman for his recent donation of $84.00 towards our Technology Department through the Exelon Corporation Matching Program.

We would also like to extend our thanks to Mrs. Pilch for her donation of arts/crafts to the Marketing Department. We appreciate your thoughtfulness.

Have a pleasant weekend!

Sincerely,

Eva M. Panczyk
Principal
