A Letter From the Principal...

Dear St. Constance School Families,

All are invited to our all school Christmas Liturgy next week Friday, December 22nd at 10:00 a.m. Our first and second graders will be portraying the real meaning of Christmas.

You are also cordially invited to join us for the 10:30 a.m. Family Mass this coming Sunday, December 17th.

On behalf of Sr. Kinga Hoffmann and all the benefactors, I would like to express our thanks for all your kindness, generosity, and for your support of the Giving Tree and Baby Bottle Projects. We will keep you in our hearts and prayers!

During this Advent season and in preparation for Christmas, students in grades 3-8 will be receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation tomorrow at 9:15 a.m.

As you know from previous communications, the TENTATIVE dates for Tax Credit Applications is January 2, 2018 for SGO (Big Shoulders) and postponed to January 24, 2018 for SGO (empowerillinois.org). We encourage you to apply with both SGO’s. When the application window does open, you will need to input the upcoming 2018-2019 Tuition Rates on the SGO forms. (I have enclosed this information on the school website tax credit link as a reference). Registration for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year will take place Catholic Schools Week (last week of January), and will be due no later than March 1, 2018. Please note that the actual applications for Tax Credit Scholarships have not be released thus far.

Congratulations are extended to Joshua Teuber who received 1st Place in an Art Contest sponsored by and participated in by all the Polish Schools in the Chicagoland area. Joshua’s winning project will be featured in Michal Kondrata’s movie about St. Maksymilian M. Kolbe titled “Two Crowns”. Congratulations Joshua!

Saint Nick thanks all his helpful holiday bakers for providing so many delicious sweets at our St. Nicholas Day Bake sale. All our students enjoyed the festive decorated cookies and cupcakes prepared by our teachers and parents. Everyone also loved the pretty holiday donuts and gingerbread men made by Delightful Pastries on Lawrence. Stop by and see all they have to offer for your holiday table. Thank you to Mrs. Batorski, Mr. Burke, Mr. Carreto, Miss Erin, Mrs. Gancarz, Mrs. Mikrut, and Mrs. Van Allman for serving at the sale. A profit of $310.00 was made to benefit the school.

Thank you to Dino’s Italian Restaurant and Buona Beef for preparing our Special Lunches for Trimester 1. Please patronize them whenever possible. Thanks also to the following families for their raffle donations and help serving lunch: Blecka, Craig, Mikrut, Mulac, Naut, Nemer, Novello-Sawicki, Pavlik, Sendra, Shaheen, Teuber, VanAllman, and Zegarski. A profit of $600.00 was made to benefit the school.

Mark your calendars and be sure to join the School Board sponsored Family Valentine’s Dinner Dance scheduled for Saturday, February 10, 2018. Great surprises are in store for you. Please watch for further information.

This is an early reminder that VanGogh Photographers will be at St. Constance School on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 to take 8th grade Graduation Pictures. Please plan accordingly.

Please support the School Board and Holy Name Society at their All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast this Sunday, December 17th from 8:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in Borowczyk Hall. Also try your luck in the Holy Name Society’s Christmas Raffle. Drawing to be held on December 17, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. in Borowczyk Hall. Winners need not to be present for the drawing.

Please make sure to join us this evening for our annual all school Christmas Show under the direction of Mrs. Marie Blecka. Children are to report to their homerooms at 6:30 p.m. All guests are invited to go directly to the gym for the 7:00 p.m. performance. We kindly ask that you please stay for the entire performance and enjoy the hard work of the students. Please enter through the main doors located on Strong Street.

Thank you to Mrs. Eileen Pavlik and the entire Home and School Association for hosting the very popular Lunch With Santa this coming Monday. We would like to add a special note of thanks to St. Nicholas himself and to all the many volunteers who will assist in making this a day enjoyable for all. Please note that Monday, December 18, 2017 will be a free out of uniform day. Children are able to wear jeans and appropriate holiday attire.

This is to remind you that school will dismiss for Christmas break next week Friday, December 22, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. The Aftercare Program will be available from 11:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
